Areas of Learning

The Curriculum at our school consists of all those activities and experiences designed or encouraged to promote the spiritual, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical development of the children. This prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.
During their time at Hiltingbury Infant School the children’s learning is based on The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum* and the National Curriculum.* All children are taught the agreed Hampshire syllabus for Religious Education and Hampshire recommended guidelines for Personal, Social and Health Education are followed. There is a strong focus on ‘Essential Life skills’ which enable children to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

The curriculum is enriched by visits and visitors and opportunities to join lunchtime and after school clubs, for example: dance, football, and French.

Our aim is to enable all children, irrespective of their needs and abilities, to access this curriculum.
