Hiltingbury Infant School is particularly good at:

- making children feel valued and encouraging them to do their best.

- providing excellent facilities for children to develop and learn.

- teaching children 'life skills' and how to learn.

- well behaved children.

- providing superb teaching staff.

- excellent curriculum for engaging boys which is good for the girls too, trips good too.

- staff are lovely - they clearly enjoy the children and their work.

- creative curriculum topic/themes are great.

- making children feel welcome in their classes and supporting them with their work.

- encouraging children and getting the best out of every child and valuing them as individuals.

- making children and parents feel welcome and understanding each child well.

- creating a happy environment for the children.

- choosing interesting and exciting topics.

- supporting children when they need extra help.

- inviting theatre companies in and having dress up days to bring the topics to life.

- encouraging children and giving them equal opportunity to be confident individuals. With the support of the excellent staff and facilities children learn things very quickly and their development is amazing.

- recognising that each child is unique and by doing so helping them to reach their full potential.

- planning and delivering a great curriculum the topic choices are very good and my children are very engaged by them.

- very good pre-school and after-school facilities.

- office team friendly and always happy to help.

- keeping parents informed of events by e-mail and involving parents in the projects.

- encouraging good, polite behaviour amongst pupils.

- catering for the whole child/Essential Life Skills.

- there is a genuine feel that all staff at the school care about my children.

- inspiring and involving the children in a variety of topics and occasions.

- 8 O'Clock Club is fantastic - the children attending in the mornings clearly have a great time and learn many new skills.

- the office team give an outstanding service to the children and parents alike, they are extremely welcoming.

- encouraging confidence and speaking in front of the class.

- the diversity of topics taught.

- the Year R playground is lovely.

- I love the themed weeks e.g. Maths Week, Science Week etc.

- the HSPTA events are great.

- the school always has a lovely calm feel to it.

- encouraging children to be 'academic'.

- allowing children to further their own learning according to their personal interest. The CHIP's afternoons (Children's Ideas and Projects) have been enjoyed enormously, I hope they will be run again.   The opportunity to work with peers from other year groups is also a very good idea.

- engaging parents as well as children.

- making you (the parent) feel as welcome as your child when first starting there.

- Hiltingbury's Got Talent is great for children to show the skills they have. It is super for them to do and gain confidence - great idea.

- the school is very good at involving parents e.g. parent open mornings, special parent assemblies.

- teaching children how to learn not just to repeat facts.

- high standards of teaching.

- making any child feel safe and confident to learn and develop.
