Headteacher Welcome

A very warm welcome to Hiltingbury Infant School. Our School is a special place where pupils, staff, parents and governors work in a community to 'Learn, Care and Achieve' together.

Having worked at the school for a number of years; and now as the Headteacher, I feel privileged to have been involved in developing a strong learning culture, in a caring community that maintains an ethos for achieving together in all that we do.

Our school promotes a warm and caring community where every child is valued as an individual. We work hard to produce a secure and happy atmosphere with high standards of achievement. As an infant school we can offer children the best possible start through a stimulating and creative curriculum rooted in outstanding Early Years provision. We believe that children learn best when they are motivated through a wide range of challenging and enjoyable activities and are given the time to reflect on their learning. We build on what children know, understand and can do and by using our ‘Hiltingbury Heroes’ learner for life skills help them to become lifelong learners who are ‘successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens’.

Parents and carers are warmly welcomed into a two-way partnership with us to secure the strongest possible outcomes for your children. We provide many outlets for you to be involved with your child’s learning and to receive regular information about their progress in school. There are also opportunities for parents and carers to contribute to school life in a voluntary capacity. As well as valuing our parental partnership, we also are very proud to work in partnership with the Junior School and wider community.

I hope you will find the content on our website appealing and informative, and that it shows you a glimpse of what makes our school so special and unique.

With best wishes

Phillippa Longman
